The Burjak Wall is a climbing spot in the Topla alpine valley on the southern side of Peca near Črna na Koroškem.
Over 230 million years ago, algae at the bottom of the sea formed limestone, the material of the wall. Later, during the formation of the Alps, those rocks folded and broke into today’s shape. The Burjak Wall, named after the nearby homestead, is a monument to the formidable forces shaping the surface in the geological past, and as such, recognised as a geological and geomorphological natural value.
The wall is a climbing area. There are around 68 trails with difficulty ranging from 3 to 8 m, and length from 6 to 55 metres. The Burjak Wall is also an important habitat of endangered bird species. They have chosen the inaccessible wall as their nesting site, and we need to give them their peace.
