Uršlja gora, also called Plešivec (1699 m) is the easternmost peak of Karavanks between Slovenj Gradec and Črna na Koroškem. There are several settlements on the mountain slopes—Uršlja gora,
(Jazbina) Podgora and Zgornji Razbor. Because of the exceptional views of the whole of Carinthia to the Kozjak mountains and the Kamnik–Savinja Alps, Uršlja gora is an important viewpoint on the Slovenian Mountain Trail. Below the peak lie St Ursula’s church, a television transmitter and a mountain hut. Above the hut, visitors can find the monument to the Carinthian soldiers who fell in the battles for the region in 1918 and 1919.
The name Plešivec was given to the mountain because of its grey limestone top. Rising above the forest-covered slopes, it gives the appearance of a bald head. The name Uršlja gora (Mount St Ursula) comes from the gothic church of St Ursula, the highest church in Slovenia. All of the mountain’s slopes are covered in greenery except for the northern part, where a rocky cliff offers a couple of challenging climbing trails. The mountainous part is covered with dense forests. On Uršlja gora you can find typical alpine plants, such as the very rare alpine bells, and alpine and aconite buttercup. The mountain slopes are populated by black grouse.
